“Little Ol’ Me” - Otis Redding Remember Me (released 1992)
I tried to figure out some of the lyrics, because I couldn’t find them anywhere and I think they’re really sweet (also I feel bad for not posting in awhile, and wanted to give you something a little extra), but there’s more than a few places I was unsure about and some things I missed, so if anyone has a better ear then me and wants to touch them up, please go ahead!
My darling, she’s lost but I can’t find her, where can she be, oh no one knows come back now baby, come back now baby.
Footsteps that you hear walking in the middle of the night, some soft voice that you hear, baby you can hold me tight all night, that’s little ol’ me, I’m the one that really loves you so, that’s little ol’ me, oh I really love you so!
The worst thing in this world is to live so all alone, if you ever need me darling, call on little ol me, I’m the one that really loves you so! Yes, call on little ol’ me, I’m the one that really loves you…
Call on me my now baby, call on me, mama, it’s little old me, I’m the one who really loves you.I’m the one who really needs you. Ain’t nobody do nothing for you baby without…listen…I love you any kind of way (?)
I’ll do anything you want me to do.
I’ll sing anything you want me to sing.
I’ll look anyway that you want me to look.
I’ll do anything that you want me to do.
I’ll sing anything that you want me to sing.
I’ll buy anything that you want me to buy.
Somebody help me. Come on!
I will give you anything you want…

Remember Me (1991)
There’s a lot of fun things about this one! One, its just different from the polished radio version we hear (pretty much) everyday. It’s interesting to see how Otis’s most popular song progressed. Two, I got to hear the “mournful cries of seagulls” at the beginning that I have read countless time were edited out in good taste.
And my favorite part is the end: “You’re not gonna make it as a whistler.”
And that’s the part of the song everyone remembers!
